Top Tots Fort Purbrook is a full day care nursery in an interesting location, with a large outdoor space where children are challenged to take measured risks, use their imagination, and explore the wonders of the outdoors in all weathers.

We provide a safe and happy environment that you would expect at home with the fun, stimulating, educational and social environment of a group setting.

We have 3 age group rooms, baby room, toddlers and preschool. These are well planned with resources that interest the children and spark curiosity and imagination. We enjoy nothing more than getting messy with craft and being creative.

Our curriculum is challenging, broad and of a high quality which is based on learning through play and extending the children’s interests whilst having high aspirations for them. Children’s individuality is embraced, we might one day be going to the moon and the next working in a robot factory!

We use a range of pedagogical strategies and theories to shape the day and give us an understanding of how children learn. Highly qualified staff and apprentices work together to encourage children to be independent learners.

We have excellent parent partnerships, working closely to ensure that care routines are like home and to support with all aspects of children’s development such as potty training. Sharing information is vital, this happens successfully at handovers, through the use of early years software and regular parent/carer evenings.

Staff are well trained to identify challenges children may be facing. Their individual needs are well supported through the use of targeted plans and working in conjunction with outside agencies such as Portage and Speech and Language Therapy.
